"Eddie or Not..." is the third episode of Season 2 of Squirrel Boy, and the twenty-ninth episode of the series overall. It first aired on February 9, 2007.

Summary[]

Cousin Eddie returns and tries to make amends with Rodney for being such a jerk.

Plot[]

Rodney is hanging a portrait of himself and Andy in Andy's room, and has to put it in an extremely specific angle at Andy's request. As Rodney goes to get a beverage, he answers the doorbell and finds his flying squirrel cousin Eddie wanting to make amends with him for his harsh treatment in the past. Eddie then walks into Andy's room and helps hang the portrait in the exact angle Andy desires. Eddie promises that he's changed and accepts an offer from Rodney to join his and Andy's escapades, which usually end with Rodney getting hurt (e.g. mauled by the crazy guard dog). As the day ends, Andy begins to think that Rodney has left him as a best friend in favor of Eddie, which becomes true as Rodney begins to emulate Eddie by doing his hair like his cousin's.

Just then, a swarm of talking rats enters the house looking for Eddie so they can get revenge on him for nasty things he said to them. The rats assume Rodney is Eddie since the real Eddie has taken off in a hiding place. Rodney then runs and hides in Andy's room and tells him all about the rats after him. Rodney finds Eddie hiding under the bed and it is revealed that he insulted the rats' appearance. The rats then break down the door, which Andy reveals he replaced with graham crackers. As the rats go after them, Andy, Rodney, and Eddie escape from the window and into the backyard. To stop the rats from chasing after them, Andy puts on a show by dressing up as a magician and shining his flashlight onto Eddie standing on the fence, who puts on an acting performance insinuating he cannot fly and asks if this is the end of his career. The rats tell him it's the end of something alright and start to viciously attack him. Every time Eddie gets attacked, he asks Rodney if he has taken enough fall, but Rodney tells him to keep going until he finally pulls a rope that spills water on the Crazy Dog and encourages him to attack Eddie with the rats. Once the final attack finishes, Rodney abrasively tells Eddie he enjoyed his performance and compliments his acting skills (apologizing for his emphasis on random words in his speech, claiming he has no control over it).

Eddie then flies off and admits he had neither an awful nor a great time and won't be back anytime soon. Andy apologizes that Eddie turned out to be lying about his good side and Rodney reconciles, also promising that Eddie will be back for revenge since Rodney pulled a trick lifting his comb by replacing it with a plunger and a tiara. As Eddie wakes up in the morning to comb his hair, he realizes his comb has been replaced, causing him to scream a loud no as the episode ends with him getting his just desserts.
