Andrew Johnson, almost exclusively referred to as Andy, is the secondary protagonist of the series. He is the best friend and owner of Rodney J. Squirrel.

- Andy's birthday is revealed to be October 28th in the episode "Birthday Boy".
- While it is never stated in the show itself, two official descriptions reveal that Andy is 9 years old: an official CN publicity document (Squirrel Boy Field Guide), and the description on the back of a CN promo DVD.
- It is unknown what age Andy was actually turning on his birthday in the episode "Birthday Boy". The initial shot of his birthday cake has 9 candles on it, so he may have been 8 years old prior to this episode.
- In the pitch bible, Andy was written to be 10 years old.
- In "Tree for Two", it is revealed that Andy had a habit of biting his nightstand. He was rewarded with a toy rocket from his dad once he stopped.
